Sea Hunt Boat Company began in 1995 when a father - son team started building center console boats in a small plant outside of Columbia, South Carolina. Demand for the elite product caused expansion of the facilities and product line at a comfortable pace to ensure that the original attention to details and high quality was never lost. By 2004 the little boat company that started in a one room shop expanded to a compact boat building plant bursting at the seams. Our design team knows it takes a strong hull design to give a boat a soft, dry, ride with maximum performance from all horsepower ranges. Sea Hunt boats are extra wide from chine to chine, providing more displacement to reduce the"rock and roll"that often occurs on other boats. A Sea Hunt boat comes on plane quickly and requires less horsepower to perform at any speed. Viewed from the bow, the sharp entry and classic "Carolina Flare" are apparent, but it doesn't stop there. The Sea Hunt difference extends through the running surface all the way back to the transom, producing a total package that is designed and engineered to give the driest, smoothest, and most comfortable ride possible. Additionally, our team carefully plans the best use of every inch of space inside the hull in order to give Sea Hunt owners the most cockpit room and storage space possible.
Each Sea Hunt Boat starts with the best combinations of premium gel coat, resin, and fiberglass that are available today. For maximum strength to weight ratio, Sea Hunt uses the most advanced material available to core the load bearing surfaces of our decks and additional areas are reinforced with more composite materials. Stainless steel deck hardware is through bolted, while seats, leaning posts, and T-tops are mounted into large aluminum backing plates, which are sandwiched into the fiberglass to further enhance your peace of mind. In the hulls, we build our own engineered fiberglass stringer grid system and couple it with an all-fiberglass transom composed of a double layer of yet another high performance material - Coosa Composites' "Bluewater Series" panels, their stiffest and strongest fiberglass reinforced composite panels.
Then, before the deck meets the hull, all models have the all-fiberglass grid stringer system and surrounding compartments filled with closed-cell urethane foam for added flotation and sound deadening. The hull and deck are then chemically and mechanically joined to create one solid, worry-free vessel. Your new Sea Hunt boat is then turned over to our final team - the experienced men and women who complete your future pride and joy with the high standards of fit and finish which have become characteristic of Sea Hunt Boat Company.

VORTEC HULLS
VORTEC HULLS ALLOW SMALLER HORSEPOWER ENGINES TO DRIVE LARGER BOATS WITHOUT SACRIFICING PERFORMANCE
UNIQUE VORTEC HULL
Since the beginning of Sea Hunt in 1995, the company and design team have been on the leading edge of innovation. From side entry doors, and Vortec hulls, to creating the first 19 foot center console with room for a porta potty, the design team continues to create new and exciting products for the marine industry.
In 2008, Sea Hunt began designing a hull that was intended to have all the great characteristics of a traditional Sea Hunt (Soft, Stable, Dry), but able to also perform with smaller horsepower. The "Step Keel" hull design first appeared on the Triton 177, and the Triton 202 soon followed. Both of these boats with the new Vortec Hull were tested extensively & performed nicely with smaller horsepower. In addition to the performance, the handling characteristics were great. The boats still rode very soft and stayed dry as always, while increasing overall stability. All of these features were enhanced when larger horsepower was applied.
SO WHAT IS A VORTEC HULL?
The bottom view from the transom looking forward shows the unique "STEP KEEL" characteristic that provides the performance advantages. The hulls have a minimum of 50 degrees of deadrise in the bow and taper to 15-18 degrees at the transom.That sharp keel transitions to a step pad just under the leaning post. This design creates better fuel economy, quicker hole shot, and more top end speed all while maintaining a stable platform underway and sitting still. Vortec Hulls allow smaller horsepower engines to drive larger boats without sacrificing performance. Since 2008, Sea Hunt has incorporated the Vortec Hull throughout most of our product line.
